Mark, you should try one of famous seafood restaurant called Bandar Jakarta. they have 2 branches, one at Alam Sutera (small remote city near Jakarta) and another one is located in North Jakarta which is in Green Bay Mall. I recommend you to go visit the one in Green Bay Mall, because they have quite a sea view over there while you enjoy the food!

I really miss eating fried quail from Padang Restaurant 😩😩 I usually order takeout so the rice absorbs the curry and became more flavorful.
Never seen anybody eat a pidgeon — do they eat other little birds too — like robins or blue jays or whatever they have there? — street sleepers in New York and San Francisco ETC should try that — they would ALWAYS have free food!

Hi @mark the fish that you ate in that resto was the Baramundi fish, we called it in Southeast Sulawesi "Kanja"

You Should try Curry cow's Brain (Gule Otak), it smooth n creamy.. i love it, but not all Padang Restaurant have it, only the big one
Its a snapper, in this case they used a white snapper (kakap putih)/barramundi
