  4. terima kasih for sharing !! I just discovered your channel πŸ˜€ I will have to add that jackfruit and tempeh to my list of stuff to try next time I am in Sydney (and the vegetarian Indian place from the Little India video), as I should be moving from Canada to Aus later in the year! I spent 3 months in Java in 2019, and my fave food was GadoGado! is there anywhere in Sydney to get it? we don't have any Indonesia restaurant where I live unfortunately

  5. As Sumatrans, we claim Rendang is from Sumatra…. not the other islands? Actually I am not from West Sumatra, hence I don’t claim anything. please stop claiming ownership of shared culture. There was a huge exodus of Minang and Mandailing people to Negeri Sembilan during Padri war, thanks to Tuanku Imam Bonjol… that was way before Dutch East Indies occupied West Sumatra. I know you’re just being cheeky and playful, but have u ever thought of how many Minang descendants in Malaya (war migrants!) would be hurt by such statements?

  36. The dessert was so huge and interesting to see all the stuff that was inside! The texture was really cool, and the crust crispy! Sucks it got a little soggy on the way home, but is to be expected. Wild that they use cheese and chocolate on the inside. Glad to see you really enjoyed this day of Indonesian food! Love you guys to the mother effin' moon! πŸ₯°πŸ’–πŸŒ›πŸ€—πŸ˜˜

  37. Helmi's dish with the jackrfuit curry is quite a unique dish. We have never tried it before. That fried fish with chili sauce looked so crispy and good, and you know Helmi is all about the spicy food! Lemongrass is one of our favorite! The White Lotus store had some great stuff we've never seen before, and great they had some treats from your childhoods!

  38. The spicy chicken with rice looked so flavorful with the sauce on the chicken. That spinach dish looked really tasty as well, as we enjoy that veggie! It's great to hear that the beef was tender and flavorful. It's interesting to hear the spices they use in these dishes paired with coconut milk.

  39. Hey Nick and Helmi! That's so cool you guys went to Indonesian food. We bet it feels nostalgic and like home! That's cool that you tried 2 different spots, and both looked like they had some really great food!
