Rendang is definitely freaking delicious ok and I didn't know it was an Indonesian food . I'm used to Japanese food which is sweet and Korean food which has a little kick of spice and sweet at the same time. But Indian curry and Thai food are my favorites, they touch so much nerves in my brain I didn't know existed ๐ They have really wide range of flavors. And Rendang , yes it's not an Indian or a Thai cuisine but it definitely has resemblance to those kinds of flavor. Rendang has this savory and spicy taste you couldn't forget , strong but addictive . They make your taste buds dance.

I am sorry but indonesian have drinking culture…if you go more east you will find local alcohol and it's a tradition….we use to call it arak or sopi

The drinking culture part will always be in a gray area here, since we are majority muslim (literally biggest muslim population in the world) but on the other hand, since we have such rich cultures some of them has their own drinking culture.
I think, the reason why we dont really have a legal age to drink (if we do, we dont really announce it) is because that will enable the drinking culture as a whole. So people usually only drink socially in places like club, or their own house, or city like Bali where its tourists heavy.
Indonesia has less drinker because the majority are Muslim. Muslim has a very strict rule about alcohol and some type of meat especially pig and dog meat. So to build trust with the majority of customer most restaurant won't serve it. Some even won't eat at a restaurant without halal label from the government. It's not about biased but we just afraid with the unknown ingredients

Eastern region has a drinking culture, although not very well known. At parties, they could serve any alcoholic drink or small meetup. So if you want to get drunk, its best to visit eastern region, or tourist hotspot.
Indonesia doesn't have drinking habit? woooo far before Islam or Christianity came hundred years ago, we did have it and we still do in some areas… that is why we have Tuak or Arak… aiyoooo that is a bit incorrect info about drinking… we do have beer brand Bir Bintang which is fond by Australians mostly…
In additions, Civets only eat the best of the best coffee bean so that's why when it came out it's really the best coffee bean u can find. And also the process into luwak coffee are really long and it tooks months to prepare it into safe, halal, hygiene and healthy also (very friendly for stomach, diabetes, high antioksidan, release stress, support nerve system, enhanced heart lever, guts problems ext).
