The thing with rice and soup, like you see there, it's not cooked together. Cooked rice in yummy soup I had only in a Fijian household and I was like what the hell are you doing with the rice, and then I proceeded to have one of the best chicken veggie soups of my life!

The sate klathak has a quite distinct flavor for each place / different "brand". I have tried several places especially in Bantul region, you can tell even though just a slight difference, that you can pick which one is your taste. And, true, most of Jogja's cuisines are popular for their sweetness and not as rich and thick as Sumatranese cuisine.

Try the soup originally first then add the sambal and others….it more deliicuous.

Visit Semarang and taste the original lunpia there which is far different from what you ate in Jogya in term of the stuff and sauce.
usually in spring rolls we add our own sauce, and sauces that are usually used are chili sauce and tomato sauce but mostly always use chili sauce
to be honest with you, as Indonesian myself, I never tried Rujak Ice Cream. So I find it interesting that you like the flavor. even for me it look strange haha.
As a central Javanese, I still can't enjoy rujak ice cream. Like you said, it confuses our brain.

That "Rujak with ice creams on top" is not make any sense to me as an Indonesian for sure. That Rujak tasted very spicy and a little bit sour from the fruits. I used to eat rujak with "kerupuk", chips, cracker instead. But, they served here with ice cream? Like what?
